TOLINO

e-Reading made in Germany.

Tolino is a Germany-based e-reader platform that offers readers the freedom to buy books from Germany’s leading booksellers, as well as roughly 1500 independent booksellers across the country. Tolino has established itself as one of the leading brands for e-books and e-readers in German-speaking countries by offering an open-source operating system and cloud-based storage that allows readers to buy e-books in various formats.

Tolino requested a series of ‘how-to’ videos to promote the Tolino App and Tolino Select services, which offer exclusive benefits to their customers. My role was to lead the conception, creation and art direction of the videos, from the initial storyboard sketches and character and animation concepts, to the fully realised and illustrated Tolino world, ready for handover to the animation department.

Initial concepts for character designs and storyboards were developed with the client. This invaluable stage of the project engaged the client in part of the creative process, and allowed our team to create a series of concept illustrations that would serve as a reference for the Tolino world’s development.
